Dr Catherine Crane
Catherine graduated from The University of Sydney in 2010 with honours and was awarded a Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2017.
In addition to working as a GP since 2017, for nearly a decade she has worked as a surgical assistant to local orthopaedic, bariatric and general surgeons.
Through her work as a GP / surgical assistant, Catherine became acutely aware of a growing population living with obesity and its complications (and the limited comprehensive medical care available to these patients).
Consequently, she completed studies in bariatric medicine at The Strategic Centre for Obesity Professional Education (SCOPE) – World Obesity Federation, Melbourne University, Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and also through the Valita Network.
In 2022 Catherine started Orange Healthy Weight Clinic, with a goal to improve the health, lifestyle and happiness of patients living with obesity.
