Gareth grew up in the Central and Far West of NSW, from Broken Hill to Portland, doing his HSC in Dubbo. He studied medicine at University of NSW in the early 1980’s, marrying a wonderful Condo girl named Debra along the way.

After doing his internship in Canberra, he and Debra moved to Orange in 1987, and have pretty much been there ever since.

Gareth started his own General Practice in 1988, now operating as Apple City Family Medicine. After 15 years in General Practice, he moved with his family to Victoria in 2003, spending 4 years there studying Sports and Exercise Medicine. He then moved again to Dubbo in 2007 for another 5 years before returning to Orange in 2012 as a Sports and Exercise Doctor.
Gareth is passionate about sport, exercise and healthy lifestyle in general. His focus in medicine is to optimise health and fitness in his patients and as much as possible minimise surgical and drug interventions. He is a keen runner, completing his first marathon in 2000, and is still running marathons and half marathons regularly. His other hobbies are music (he plays guitar), building a garden on his hobby farm, cryptic crosswords, reading history and philosophy, adding to his wine collection, and enjoying his family. He and Debra have 2 sons, born in the 1990’s (both now lawyers), and now a lovely daughter-in-law and young grandson.

Dr Tim Low is an Orthopaedic and Sports Doctor. He sees patients with all Orthopaedic conditions as well as sports injuries including concussion. Patients do not need to be “sporty” or have a GP referral to see Dr Low.

Pain can often cause people more distress and worsen their symptoms if they don’t understand why they are experiencing it. Dr Low’s expertise are in getting the correct diagnosis, providing education in laymans terms and in collaboration with the patient implementing the best management plan.

Dr Low helps patients with non-surgical management. However having worked as an Orthopaedic Surgical assistant for several years he is well informed about the different surgical options for various conditions and can offer appropriate non-biased advice regarding both non-surgical and surgical management pathways.

In the best interests of the patient, a doctor with medical training is required to formally diagnose any injury or illness. There are a multitude of medical illnesses, neurological conditions, compromise of blood supply, cancer etc. that can also present as musculoskeletal conditions, especially in persisting and chronic injuries.
